Free Hertz Gold Plus Rewards President Circle Status

The Offer

Direct link to offer (might need to change country settings to Germany first) or try this link

  • Hertz is offering president circle status for free when you use the promo code 501032. Should work for new and existing users. For existing users:
    • Profile summary
    • Personal details
    • Click edit, scroll down to CDP and enter the code
  • Keep in mind it will take a day or two for the new status to be reflected. Also keep in mind some CDP offers are better than this.

The Fine Print

  • Promotion is supposed to be for Lufthansa Senator members but is working for everybody.

Our Verdict

President circle status gives you:

  • Guaranteed vehicle availability
  • Guaranteed one-car-class upgrades with every rental
  • 25% bonus points on all Hertz or Hertz 24/7 rentals
  •  900 points after every 10 qualifying rentals, the equivalent of a Reward Rental Day
  •  Email offers for special discounts, exclusive events access and invitations to win fabulous prizes
  • Plus, all the time-saving perks of the Gold Plus Rewards programme

Maybe of some limited use to people.

    not working

  2. mommafrica says:

    +1

  3. Oliver says:

Somehow I can’t edit the CDP in my profile. I already had a USAA number stored in there.

    • Justin says:

Just add it as an additional. You can have more than one stored in your account.

    • Alex says:

For some reason I cant add a second cdp code to my account. Any suggestions?

      • Josh says:

I was having the same issue. I suggest to simply give Hertz a call and the representative can update your profile and add the CDP # to your account. They may ask for the name of the CDP, you’ll say LH SENATOR. This is Hertz for USAA phone #: 800-654-9141.

  4. Justin says:

    Seemed to work for me.

  5. Ymb says:

I updated the CDP it says LH senator but my profile still says that I’m 5 star (from united silver)

  6. Beth says:

Thanks very much! this site is the bomb

  7. Abraham says:

It’s weird because it’s not allowing me to add since I already have USAA as my CDP

  8. Nick says:

Seems like on a few dummy searches my USAA CDP is much more valuable.

  9. Jeff G says:

Worked for me. Created a new account and “LH Senator” showed up.

  10. Kat says:

I already have AMEX code in there and have been getting approx 10% discounts. Will this also give discounted rates? Or can I pick between the standard codes (you have to mark one as preferred)?

  11. MM says:

Got this last spring with a similar link with Nordic Choice. They realized the error fairly quickly and adjusted my membership back, but not before they sent a physical card with Presidents Circle status printed on it. That was key, because I used that to get Emerald Executive Elite status via status match, then turned around and used the National status to match back to Presidents Circle with Hertz. The physical card doesn’t have a date on it either, so I’m hoping I can use this to status match back and forth indefinitely:)

Don’t forget to status match ASAP and start a status matching loop!

    • JL says:

don’t they limit you to how frequently you can status match per x years? or is car rental company generally loose and let’s you match every year?

      • MM says:

Scanned the terms on National and Hertz and didn’t see any language about limits, but that’s totally possible. I’ll have to do some more research — good tip!

    • billy bob says:

i got it through the Nordic choice last spring too… but they never adjusted my status back.

  12. Jags says:

    Worked for me. Thanks!

  13. Elena says:

That is so awesome, thank you Will!! Hope it’s going to stick. I just created a new account and the “LH Senator” note showed up as promised.

  14. Ab says:

My friends and I weren’t able to add a CDP since there was a CDP in there already. If you have this problem all you have to do is call up Hertz and they’ll add it for you in less than 30 seconds

  15. Chris says:

Wasn’t able to update CDP on website (currently have USAA CDP on there), but was able to get it resolved over live chat with a rep in 2 minutes. Now showing USAA and LH Senator CDP’s on my account.

  16. George says:

do we get mailed the physical card with Presidents Circle status printed on it

  17. tinytavosa says:

So this will simply give you presidential benefits when you book using then CDP? So if I use my USAA CDP after using this one time, it wont help right? I was hoping to get pres status and still use my USAA? Possible

  18. yehuda says:

why cant I change my cdp? my account currently says usaa preferred and doesn’t let me change it

  19. yehuda says:

I had the same issue as a lot of people here and wasn’t able to add a new cdp I went and chatted with hertz and within 1 minute it was added no questions asked. now its on my profile when I want to book it gives me a option to use lh senator as a cdp

  20. ranova says:

Is this better than amex plat status?

    • james33 says:

I’m wondering too. The Amex Plat status is still on my account even though my cards are closed lol.

The guaranteed perks sound great but it doesn’t say you are given any sales discounts like Amex Plat

    • Yr says:

Don’t use it on a rental but if it gives you presidents circle you have a much better choice of car get more points per rental and you get an upgrade

  21. Ab says:

Status still didn’t change I applied the CDP yesterday

  22. Atroposz says:

Still active, went thru immediately upon creating a new account (maybe that’s what’s causing some people to get a delay, they’re already members? Just a random thought)

  23. lzhu says:

I can see the CDP show up on my account but is it supposed to show the president circle status anywhere in my account?

  24. Jack says:

What if for current President circle members? Will it extend by 1 more year??

  25. Mike A says:

I really appreciate the post Doc. However, I think Hertz has caught on that the CDP intended for the exclusive use of Lufthansa Senator members is being widely distributed to non-Lufthansa Senator members. I successfully added the CDP to my account last night after switching my home country from the US to Germany. However, when I logged in to my Hertz account today the “LH Senator” CDP had been deleted from my account.

  26. Benjamin says:

Does anyone know if you have to actually make a booking for the status to take? I was able to add the code in my profile, but I wasn’t sure if I had to book a rental or not before the status would update.

  27. Andrew S says:

Presently a USAA member and had to chat them to add this on.

    As far as its benefits…

    Guaranteed vehicle availability
    – Limited value
Guaranteed one-car-class upgrades with every rental
    – Actually valuable if I can stack this with USAA
25% bonus points on all Hertz or Hertz 24/7 rentals
    – Not really valuable
900 points after every 10 qualifying rentals, the equivalent of a Reward Rental Day
    – Useless.
Email offers for special discounts, exclusive events access and invitations to win fabulous prizes
    – Useless.
Plus, all the time-saving perks of the Gold Plus Rewards programme
    – Useless?

  28. Fester says:

My friend did not have an account so we created one on the German website. Halfway through when we indicated US Drivers License it questioned that and when we said yes change from Germany to US it changed to English translation but remained on the .de website. We completed registration. The status did not change to PC but the CDP for LHSenator does show on the account. Guess, we need to wait. It seemed that folks were saying it automagically changed to PC but it did not for us.

  29. Sos says:

What’s the purpose of changing it to Germany? I successfully added the cdp without changing it to Germany, will it still work?

  30. Tom says:

4 days after successfully adding the LH Senator CDP code and nothing. Oh well.

  31. Benjamin says:

Yeah, didn’t work. This is zero for three on Diabolika for me at this point.

  32. CC says:

Added the CDP to my account since 10/14. But my status is still not updated to President Circle as of today. Any success story here?

  33. TexDoc says:

    Didn’t update my status

  34. TIMOTHY KOZLOW says:

I just did it. Took 5 seconds. Now says LH senator.

  35. Nick says:

Status never updated. On the HERTZ board in ATL it simply directed me to the row where you could choose any Yaris you pleased (which I didn’t). Went to the booth where I was luckily told “take anything from GOLD” and ended up with a Camry. Will use DOLLAR next time.

  36. zalmy says:

Took over a week, but it finally added to my account. Thanks Doc!

  37. Vj says:

Can we do a status match to Avis?
